Engineering Manager (Low Voltage Power Supplies)
Manages assigned personnel in the Low Voltage Power Supply group to provide the best possible product, which meets the requirements of the customer. Solves technical problems and coordinates additional technical support when necessary. Resolves design related manufacturing issues. Ensures that the department supports and enhances the strategic plan's goals and objectives, related to cost, quality and performance of product produced.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
' Responsible for engineering aspects of the product development process to meet cost, quality, and performance requirements of the Business Plan and customer expectations.
' Responsible for ensuring adherence to all design and manufacturing policies and procedures during the development of new products and processes.
' Responsible for the professional and technical development of the members of the group.
' Stays abreast of technical developments in the industry. Provides original thinking, ingenuity and creativity by introducing new ideas or courses of action. Supports innovative problem solving by involving staff in identifying and implementing better methods and procedures.
' Assigns job responsibilities and maintains clarity of functions for assigned personnel. Allocates resources, designs workflow and integrates work into overall department and company objectives.
' Conducts annual performance reviews with employees according to schedule. Provides regular ongoing feedback in a constructive, reinforcing manner. Develops staff by giving visibility and credit those who make a significant contribution.
' Authorizes material purchase per project budget.
' Participates in the design tasks and design review.
' Prepares the technical portion of quotes for new or modified products.
' Communicates with customers and suppliers on technical requirements, specifications and issues.
' Develops and maintains budget objectives and exercises cost control in the use of available resources.
' Recommends hiring of employees and provides data and recommendations for disciplinary actions.
' Monitors and reviews MRB/MDR activities and implements corrective actions.
' Proactively identify and solve problems related to all aspects of development engineering.
' Maintain product development processes and procedures, making changes where appropriate to improve performance and throughput.
' Coordinates inter-departmental activities to support assigned projects.
' Must project a positive 'Can Do' attitude at all times with reports, customers and operators.
' Support all organizational functions to ensure success.
' Responsible and accountable for all assigned projects including internal and external customers and/or vendor activities in such a way to ensure business success.
' Supports Value Based Management (VBM) and Value Based Six Sigma (VBSS) initiatives.
' Other duties as requested. |
